Blog Post Confessional

So I have been avoiding all my normal online haunts and that usually happens for one of two reasons if I'm super busy or if I'm feeling guilty for not following my training.  Then yesterday I received this e-mail from my dad:

Thanx Dad for calling me out
"Hi Tasha have not seen you one dailymile. I'm not sure what I am doing today but tomorrow I am doing the 50+ miler I did earlier this month. Chat soon"

Gotta love it!!!  I called him and confessed I have been slacking and that I would post a confession on here!  That is one good thing about being so transparent about my life is that people can call me out when I'm slacking!!!!

So I have no idea why I took Thurs. off then Fri. has been my normal 1 day off and I was having friends over for dinner (had a blast btw) so that's 2 days in a row with nothing.  Sat. I swam 1 hour to avoid the smoke outdoors instead of a double workout I should have done.  Sun. I used smoke as an excuse again and did my 40 miles indoors in spin class.  Then Monday NOTHING, I had some unexpected schedule issues that I didn't work hard enough to overcome.  Tuesday NOTHING!!!! No excuse here other than getting my hair highlighted?!??  I know, pathetic!!

Thanx G for being an awesome running buddy!!
So I will do 20 burpees and ask for forgiveness!  I'm back on track though.  Yesterday at 6pm I ran 10 miles with the best running buddy ever!  I let her convince me it would be a good idea to to run 5 miles in the heat then sit in on a meeting she needed to go to while our muscles got tight then run the other 5 back to her house, at least it was cooler on the way back.  This really hurt and I got sick and lost 4lbs of water weight, the last time I lost that much water weight was the IM.  Thank you for getting me through this you win the best running buddy award of the year!! She was telling me stories, encouraging me, even sang to me at one point which I might have put a stop to :-) and didn't let me quit and was sooooo patient with me when I had to stop and walk!  Now I will quit being a drama queen and get back to my normally scheduled workouts.  At least this happened fairly early on in my IM training!

Do you have a running buddy that has gotten you through a rough situation?  Do you have someone on DM that helps you out when you might be slacking?

Hey girl,

So just the other day I ran across a new little phenom that is circling the inter webs.

Here's just one of the gazillion I found:

I didn't have much luck finding one for triathletes so I decided to make one of my own:

I thought I don't want hubs to feel left out so I decided to include him in on the fun:

Happy Friday!

Who said triathletes can't dance?

Being a creature of habit I went to the same locker today that I always do to change and as I stood there I remembered "Oh crap the last time I was here I put my kick board and leg bouy in the locker below mine to keep from getting the rest of my stuff wet!"  That was on Friday and I opened the locker below and guess what!?

Yay to good luck for once!!  This week will just keep getting better I can feel it.  I'm even feeling like I am finally starting to get some of my work under control, yes I'm still drowning in it a little but at least it's a kiddie pool now and if I just remember to stand up I'll be ok! :-)

Ok now I need to take a little break from normal shop talk and swoon for just a minute.  "If salsa and rythm were in the olympics you'd win the gold!"  I have never gotten into Dancing with the Stars before but this season caught my eye as I saw this a** shake it's way onto my screen!  My mom has always loved the show because she loves dancing! It's a good thing this season happened while my husband was deployed because he wouldn't have been very amused by my behavior.  I mean standing ovations everytime and my dog thinks I've lost my mind... Don't worry if you're reading this dear we will be taking salsa classes when you get back :-)  That counts as cross training right?

Stories and Winners!

First a couple of stories, then a couple of pictures some of you may have already seen on my DM & FB, then the winners of the Tribute Sport giveaway!

Pool Stories
So for those of you who have read my blog in the past you know I have been learning a lot a cool new exercises you can do in the pool just by watching those around me.  I have another new one.  I even had a conversation with him but didn't build up the courage to ask him what the exercises help with.

Pool Guy: What is that?
Me: Oh this, it's just a kick board.  It looks different because it's supposed to be ergonomic.
Pool Guy:  Oh yeah that does look aerodynamic.
Me: No like it's just made to where it's easier to grip.
Pool Guy: Yeah it looks like you could go really fast with that.
Me: Yeah you're right (I didn't have it in me to fully explain and just wanted to swim laps)

Then he proceeded to get in an open lane and alternate between walking down the length of the pool waving his hands underwater and splashing then on the way back he would hop on one foot while holding his head.  Again I'm sure there is a very valid reason for this I'm just not seeing it right away.  :-)

On my way to work this morning

This morning I saw two things on my way to work that made me go hmmmm, but I didn't attempt to take pictures.  I saw Spider Man walking towards the bus stop.  Then I saw two grown women that I see about every other day on their way to the bus stop and the thing with them is that every time I see them they are wearing matching outfits.  I'm not talking a uniform or anything just matching outfits and I don't know why but I really am curious as to the reason...  Maybe I need to ride that bus sometime.

La Luz #2

I ran La Luz again and the good news is my muscles weren't sore this time because I'm use to the hill the bad news is my leg hurts pretty bad from the swelling and bruising on my leg.  Note to self pick up your feet when you run downhill!

Me pretending I didn't just fall....

Sorry it's upside down I was attempting to take a picture of it myself...  This is before it started swelling and bruised...

Now what you've been waiting for the winners from the Tribute Sport Giveaway!!  One was Bitahnii  and the second was Donna G!!!!!  Email me at cautiouslyaudacious@hotmail.com with your mailing address and I'll get your cool running necklace to you as quickly as possible!  Congrats and thanks again to Tribute Sport!

Random Photo Wed

No I have not decided to make this a thing every Wed. I can't seem to stick to weekly themes on my blog but it felt like a good random photo Wed :-)

My husband sent me this, but he has come to realize now that it's not true...  He may be getting a break while he's overseas but I will be in the hardest 2 months of my IM training when he gets back so we will be getting him a road bike!

He also sent me this one and said my hummus and tabbouleh is way better :-)  I quit cooking and have started eating cereal for dinner because it makes me sad to cook for 1 but I can't wait for him to get back and I'll start cooking on a regular basis again!
While we were visiting the Getty he asked me to take a picture of this saying so we could remember it.  Later that weekend he proposed to me!  :-)

Not sure if it's real but that's brave if it is!
I really really want to go to this but can't decide if even sampling should fit into my training schedule!!
Can't forget the best triathlon photographer on mother's day!!!
