Then there were a couple of days of weight lifting then I got in a quick 1 mile & 2 mile treadmill run later. But I decided I still needed to stick to my long run schedule so on Sunday I went out for 12 miles. Needless to say my legs were achy and sore so I decided it would be the perfect time to try some of these for the first time:

| My 1st pair of compression socks! |
After wearing them for about 4 hours post run I decided they were well worth it and made my legs feel significantly better. Granted I still had some soreness but the achy feeling was completely gone. The funny thing was I went over to my neighbors' house to return a jacket (they are both above mid 70s) and told them my compression sock story at which point they both pulled up a pants leg and said look we wear them every day and if they had it to do over again they would have started wearing them way sooner. That was so cute. They also said they get 2 a year that medical insurance pays for hmmmm.... Do you think I could get that same deal? Doubtful :-)
So there you have it I have been MIA due to my hubs getting to be in town for 5 days then my dad came to visit for my brother's open house with his new wife then I was sad for a while and feeling overwhelmed with work and being alone again so kind of stayed off line from any social media for a while. But now I have had time to gather myself and the run helped a lot in getting me back on track! So what have you guys been up to? I have a lot of reading to do!

I love my compression socks! They just feel so good to put on after a hard run that I wouldn't even care if they didn't really do anything. :)
Totally valid excuse to be gone awhile. Glad you had a great time...all that skiing will keep up your cardiovascular fitness just fine! :)
I am a believer in compression
I second with Jill, best reason to skip out on social media
welcome back! those compression socks have been used for a long time to help with circulation. i remember seeing them at the drugstore. lol! i have a pair for recovery and i like them too.
me too! I feel so out of the loop with everyone. I'm thinking I'm AT the age where insurance might pay form my compression socks - I think I'll look into that ;-)
