Where have the heros gone?

In sports that is!?  So we are all well versed on what's going on with Lance and we all have our own opinions and sides we're on.  But I got to thinking are they going to try go after Chrissie next?  She's another one of my heros and is a bad @**!  With boxing fiascos and fixed fights to baseball and all the roids.  Now triathlon is the next to fall cause of doping?

I remember reading an article many years ago about a pro female triathlete and she had a title taken away because she tested positive for something but then the decision was reveresed because they found out it was something in one of her supplement bars that was showing up that she didn't know was in them.  Call it naturally gifted or them just being machines but there are some people that are going to be better then others, are we now so jaded that we are going to doubt anyone that is doing amazing things in the world of sports?

I may not have answers to the questions I pose above but I still believe in the everyman and the touching stories you see every year of people over coming great obstacles just to say they've crossed that Ironman finish line!  I also want to believe in pro athletes and be inspired by what they are able to accomplish we just have to figure out what's real and what's not.

Keep on keepin on...

I'd hate for all of these people we (and kids) look up to wind up being on roids and the like. So sad.

I choose to believe that the amazing athletes like Lance and Chrissy and others are driven on pure hard work and determination...until absolutely 100% proven otherwise. Call me trusting if you want, but if we don't have people to look up to who are clean and honest, then it's a pretty sad world. Of course there are those who will cheat to earn the title...but to me, the title of a winner is one who worked for that title, not down some substance to get it.

This may not even be anything close to what you posted about...got on my soap box for a minute :).

Nina Kraft in 2005 or so.
Believe it or not she trains at in Clermont at the National Training Center and is very good friends of a high school classmate of mine.
She was in the starting group ahead of me (along with Lance) at IMFL 70.3 this year.

Beer? Mile 25 at IMFL has the "drunk" brigade water station of which I have partaken at both my FL finishes. If they have it an NYC, you bet!!
