It's a sad day for those of us who wanted to believe in Lance and that's all I really can say about that. I haven't been able to bring myself to watch the interview because I have feared his sincerity would be lacking.

One Hour Iroman said to me "You've still got me" He was absolutely right! My fellow age groupers are my true inspiration and are the reason I even ventured into the world of Ironman! If it wasn't for those special interest stories I'd see on TV every year and the hard work I'd see my friends go through to get there I would never have thought "You know what I could do that!" So to all of you out there in the daily grind that still find the mental fortitude and physical strength to have a part time job of Ironman training on top of your day job,
THANK YOU!! You are my true inspiration and I don't need anyone else to look up to!
This weekend is supposed to be warm especially compared to how it has been around here lately, highs in the upper 40's and even better news I've been able to get some workouts in lately where I feel good and not dizzy so I think I'm going to try and venture outside this weekend. Try a little jogging and definitely some hiking. I'm excited for a three day weekend!

It is just sad, part 2 is tonight, honestly, I dont know if I can watch it, I will have to record it and maybe, someday watch it.
Honestly, it was probably good you didnt watch it, he was un apologic, not sincere, almost cocky about it, it stung to hear and is slowly turnng to anger
We have to remember that who we idolize are humans and humans are flawed. The power they achieve makes it worse and it grows. For the most part they are somewhat sociopathic to get to where they are anyway.
I will tell you this, though... he was and is still one heck of a human specimen.
I mean I was only able to sustain 19.6mph at FL 70.3 and he did 29.5... who could possibly be 50% greater than the OneHourIronman? :)
It was sad and a little frustrating because it didn't seem like he thought he was cheating.
If weekend worrior means your IM time is almost two times the pros I am one. As far as Lance, it is part of their game it only hurt them and the sport. The real damage was done to the people he gave hope to and those who looked up to him. I was thinking if I did what Lance done I might get a sub 15 hour IM Enjoy the weekend
