Back to work!

So I'm on my 4th day of being back at work and on my 4th day of not working out!!!!!!  Yes, it's been an adjustment but I've decided to give myself a free pass this whole first week.  Although I think I'll be able to workout Fri. - Sun. of this week so 3 out of 7 ain't bad right?!???  Apparently I'm doing pretty well considering I haven't broken down crying at work or so I'm told.  So my plan was to bike to and from work each day it's about 10 miles each way all uphill on the way home.  But then I was like ok Monday I need to just concentrate on getting to work on time and making sure A isn't too shocked.  Then I didn't have a spare tube so I didn't want to bike without a back up, then it started raining and we're supposed to have a snow storm coming in.  So I thought no big deal I'll try and get a quick workout in during my lunch, the first day I managed to get 2 mile walk in but that's it and I've had work stuff going on during all my other lunches.  HENCE, the free pass this first week.  I've gotten to work on time each day, only left late 1 day, and my son only ignored me the first day.  The last couple of days he's smiled and happy to see me!!  So he doesn't completely hate me now that he realized I will come home at the end of each day and haven't just run off to be an average triathlete! :-)

My boss really missed me or at least the fact that I get my work done and he usually never has to hear from my departments, apparently his workload was a little out of control while I was gone!  It's nice be missed!  It's been nice engaging my brain again but definitely miss the little guy terribly!  The other day I never laughed so hard when a co-worker was telling me a story about how in her sleep deprived delirium as a new mom she figured out that her daughter kept waking herself up by moving too much or flipping over so one day she put velcro on the sheet and the terrycloth PJs her daughter was wearing held her in place and she slept the whole night!!! Oh man!  She regretted admitting that as soon as we started laughing!

I bet it did feel good to get back in there and engage your brain again! Nicely done.

Sounds like you are adjusting back to work life. I think it's totally fair to get a free pass for workouts this week. That's a lot to try to figure out...take it all slowly.
